Teacher Scholarships

The Alabama Holocaust Commission (AHC) is a Jewish Foundation for the Righteous (JFR) "Center for Excellence." Through this affiliation, the AHC provides two scholarships annually to middle and high school teachers to JFR's Alfred Lerner Fellowship Program.   |   Further Information

Applications are accepted through December 31st of each year and can be made through the Birmingham Holocaust Education Committee.

SPIRIT OF ANNE FRANK AWARDS  Information & Application Form
Anne Frank Outstanding Scholarship Award -- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are community leaders and have been accepted to a four-year college. The winning applicant receives a $10,000 scholarship; runners-up receive $1,000.

Anne Frank Outstanding Educator Award -- This award recognizes those who have created special programs or opportunities that encourage students to stand up against racism, prejudice, and bias-related violence; embody tolerance in both their personal and professional endeavors; have established cultural or educational programs for traditionally excluded groups. The award carries a $1,000 honorarium.

Anne Frank Outstanding Citizen Award -- This award honors adults who are community leaders, bridge builders and role models. These individuals embody tolerance and promote unity and peace. This award carries a $1,000 honorarium.
